Φύλο

Το φύλο παραμένει ένας παράγοντας-κλειδί ανισότητας στην Ελλάδα. Υπάρχουν διαφορές στις σπουδές και στα επαγγέλματα που τα άτομα επιλέγουν ή ακολουθούν, καθώς επηρεάζονται από τις στερεοτυπικές αντιλήψεις που υποστηρίζουν ότι ορισμένες σπουδές ή επαγγέλματα ταιριάζουν καλύτερα ή απορροφούν περισσότερο το ένα ή το άλλο φύλο.

Αναπηρία

Η διάκριση στα άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες αναγνωρίζεται ως πρόβλημα. Τα άτομα με αναπηρία συχνά αντιμετωπίζουν προβλήματα που προέρχονται από την ανεπάρκεια θεσμών και υπηρεσιών για την αντιμετώπιση των ειδικών αναγκών τους, αλλά και από τις στάσεις του κοινωνικού συνόλου απέναντί τους.

Μετανάστες, αλλοδαποί, παλιννοστούντες

Η παρουσία της μετανάστευσης στην Ελλάδα είναι πολυσύνθετη και η ενσωμάτωση των μεταναστών και των παλιννοστούντων αναδεικνύει πολλά προβλήματα, όπως χαμηλή γνώση της γλώσσας, έλλειψη δεξιοτήτων, ανεργία.

Μαθητές που εγκαταλείπουν το σχολείο

Οι μαθητές που βιώνουν τη σχολική αποτυχία και εγκαταλείπουν το σχολείο έχουν σοβαρές εκπαιδευτικές ελλείψεις που οδηγούν σε προβλήματα επαγγελματικής αποκατάστασης. Τα άτομα αυτά χρειάζονται συμβουλευτική υποστήριξη για την ενδυνάμωση της επάρκειάς τους σε επαγγελματικά θέματα.

Greek legislation and the Greek scientific community currently place great emphasis on the importance of equal opportunities. The equality policy underpins the whole social framework and emphasises the importance of equal opportunities both generally for the whole population and for groups with particular needs. For an accurate understanding of social inequality, it is necessary to highlight its multi-dimensional nature.

Gender

Gender continues to be a key aspect of inequality in Greece. There are disparities in the fields of study and work that people choose or follow, and stereotypically “match” better or absorb exclusively the one or the other sex.

Disability

Discrimination against disabled people is increasingly acknowledged as a problem. These people often encounter obstacles, which are coming from the absence or the inadequacy of the institutions and the services concerning the confrontation of their special needs, but also from the attitudes of the social framework.

Immigrants and refugees

The appearance of immigration in Greece is multifold and the incorporation of immigrants and refugees reveals many problems, like low knowledge of language, lack of skills, unemployment.

Dropouts

Students who meet failure in school are held back by limitations in their vocational activity. This group needs guidance interventions that increase their self-efficacy within a career context.
