Guidelines for site contributers
27-November-2006
It was agreed at the London meeting that I would put together a user friendly set of guidelines for users to advise them of conventions for quoting from articles in the UK.
The UK perspective
24-November-2006
The UK delegates discussed their ideas for dissemination activities to tie in with the proposed launch of the EGCRF website which is scheduled for May 2007.
Dissemination Activities
23-November-2006
At the London November meeting it was agreed it would be useful to record partners dissemination activities to note what has already been done and look ahead to future strategies.
really helpful structure

Great to see this categorisation as a way to navigate the materials as they come on line.
TRANSLATION GREECE
06-September-2006
Despina recently sent this contribution giving the perspective from Greece on materials for translation which I am posting on her behalf.

Rationale for choice?

Great to see your ideas, it would be interesting to hear a bit more about what criteria you used to make these selections...
These are great!

Really helpful and interesting to see the particular themes that have been identified.
Excellent

I just think it's really exciting seeing what sort of materials will be coming through. From a personal perspective I'm interested to see how guidance in HE looks in Finland!
Selecting documents for Translation
15-June-2006
At the Slovenia meeting it was agreed that it would be useful to have some on-line discussion about appropriate criteria for selecting materials to be translated. The replies so far to this entry identify possible contenders for translation.
Why the EGCRF is a potentially valuable resource for IAG
25-April-2006
This is a testimonial provided by Ufi/learndirect for inclusion on the website. I wonder if other stake holders could be encouraged to provide similar statements to build up a resource to inform future developments on the website?
Counselling Skills - 'just tools'
20-January-2006
It is uncontroversial to say that a Careers Adviser needs 'Counselling skills' to be effective in their role, but perhaps these are just 'techniques' or 'tools' rather than 'competencies' - what else is needed to provide meaningful support to users of careers services?
Observations on the email and telephone guidance bibliography
04-December-2005
Thanks for this Deirdre, it's useful to be reminded of the range of publications on this topic already out there. A lot of the material around email for guidance purposes is familiar to me, but I am less aware of the literature around telephone guidance. I'd be interested in hearing more from those with experiences or views on how the telephone helpline approach fits into guidance.
What's this all about?

Some reflections on thoughts arising from the first UK Steering Group meeting for the EGCRF website.
Trying to spread the word to practitioners
30-September-2005
Yesterday I distributed copies of the NGRF/EGCRF cards to my practitioner colleagues within an HEI in the UK that is 1 international careers adviser 1 European careers adviser 3 careers advisers 2 senior employability advisers 1 careers information office The cards are a great way to spread the word and seem to have been well received. I thought the range of jobtitles that different staff have within just one careers service might also be of interest. I wonder what the European equivalent jobtitles might be amongst the EGCRF partners.
Polish teachers of English
30-September-2005
Today I had a visit in from 4 English Language Teachers from Poland - The Technical University of Lodz. They were interested to find out about careers service provision within a UK Higher Education context. In addition to introducing them to the NGRF I mentioned the EGCRF as a possible source of sharing ideas across the broader European community.
